When talking to a rabbi, is it acceptable to say “yes, sir” or would you say “yes, rabbi” or what?
just like one would not typically call a doctor "sir" one should not call a Rabbi "sir" since sir is a title, but unnecessary to one who earned another title that is more specific to them.
